KAOHSIUNG SOCIAL HOUSING - MECANOO

TAIWAN - KAOHSIUNG

"The east building houses most of the apartments while the west tower concentrates the mixed-use program, with social facilities, apartments and a senior's day-care centre."

The structure uses green terraces that connect the different functions to one another physically.

Integrating rooms designed for a large variety of users, rather than forming to a single demographic: young couples, elderly, students, families with children, disabled, etc.

Part of an urban redevelopment scheme in the neighbourhood, it is a series of distributed clusters of hybrid living structures.

VALLEY - MVRDV

AMSTERDAM, NETHERLANDS [2015]

"The project was created with the aim of realising a multifunctional building, which included a mixed programme of offices, residence and amenities."

There are three 'valley peaks' which all integrate residential as well as public usage. At the peaks, there are sky bars and other rooftop activities which overlooks the surrounding city. Having the residential clusters resting on the mountain faces allows for views of the valley and also the all year-round green planting cascading down the maintain planes. The public pedestrianised valley passing through the centre covers floors 0 up to 5 which includes retain, cultural facilities, etc. for both residents as well as the general public.

Moreover, the building also houses 7 floors of offices, creating spaces for companies to thrive here as well as provide job opportunities.

YISUO DESIGN BOUTIQUE HOSTEL MOUNT MOGAN

FORMS OF LIVING - HOSTEL

SHORT STAY LIVING:

The project consists of different 'space volumes' which, when compiled together, form the design with different, separated elements of function. Each volume contains a certain function such as a bedroom, kitchen, living space, etc.

The volumes are stacked together in a container-like fashion and work together as seen in the sectional perspective.
