EAST POINT PARK BIRD SANCTUARY

Bird watching pavilions made from weathering steel. The structure is light, bird-friendly, and shelters viewers from rain.


With the use of weathering steel, these pavilions are essentially blending in with its landscape, encouraging birds to come closer to us as we stand and view them from within the structures.

BIOSPHERE TREEHOUSE

Enveloped in 350 birdhouses of all sizes, Bjarke Ingels Group has created a unique bird sanctuary where humans can reside overnight. The main structure of this sanctuary is stilted with two trees, and comprises of a dark mirrored box.


Located in Lapland, the idea behind this treehouse is to encourage more birds to nest and increase the population of the local birds in this area.


KOLLERU BIRD SANCTUARY

Located in Andhra Pradesh, India, this bird sanctuary spans across 673 square kilometres. This designated space protects part of the Kolleru Lake. Migratory birds of this park include:


- Black-Winged Stilts

- Common Redshanks

- Eurasian Wigeons

- Gadwalls

- Garganeys

- Great Cormorants

- Greater Flamingos

- Green-winged Teals

- Northern Pintails

- Northern Shovelers

- Pied Avocets

- Purple Herons

- Red-Crested Pochards


DUCK LAND

Duck Land by Cedric Price, 1989-1991. A competition project located at the river Elbe in Hamburg, Germany. The idea of this project was to turn the area into a large nature reserve for migratory waterfowl, which would have a floating walkway called the 'mud-mobile'
