Reforming an old car park and civic offices to provide accommodation for those suffering with loneliness and isolation. The project focuses on the livelihood, mental health and physical capabilities of elderly people who are in need of company.
Providing 4 levels of apartments as well as ground-level shops to allow residents quick and easy access to groceries and essentials, the scheme becomes a small community.
Beyond Isolation
Battling Loneliness
Loneliness is a prevalent issue in elderly people, through connecting the residents to their peers as well as the rest of the city, the project acts as a beacon for connection with the design of its thoroughfare with green spaces, planting and plots for its residents.
The outdoor space can be utilised for numerous recreational activities whether that is dog-walking, gardening or garden ball games, these areas are not restricted to only its residents.
