Exchange
Upon entering the Nature in the City competition, each group is given a particular word to base the designs from. In our case, we were given the word 'Exchange' along with having to integrate natural elements into our design.
We took this as an exchange of knowledge. skills and items within a healthy community.
Between each block, there would be community squares that housed differing functions depending on the desires of those living nearby. These functions can be swapped out with different activities at any time.
The low-level neighbourhood streets can be primarily pedestrianised during some parts of the year to reduce vehicular traffic and promote nature within the city through landscaping and planting.

Activities
In each square, there is an opportunity for different activities, whether that be from roller-skating, creating timber pavilions or a giant chess board to play with one another to strengthen connections within the community.

Recreation
Having the space for recreational activities such as a large chess board for members of the community to come together and participate. Spaces designed with landscaping and nature integrated to ensure pockets of privacy to carry out activities.

Community
Allowing the community to come together to participate in shared activities as the year progresses. All ages, levels of knowledge and physical ability can come together and exchange something with one another to strengthen their connections.
